The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Hypermedia Library was opened to the public last month at its new premises at Persiaran Puteri 1, Bandar Puteri Puchong in Puchong.
It is the council’s third hypermedia library after the opening of first two at the 3C Complex, Subang Jaya and Serdang Raya, Seri Kembangan.
The library’s operating hours are from 9.30am to 7pm from Tuesday till Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The library is closed on Monday, public holidays, and the first and third Saturdays of each month.
The new library has a collection of 2,419 books on various topics.
The public can also utilise the Internet service. The rates are RM1 per hour for members and RM3 per hour for non-members.
A yearly fee is applicable for those who would like to register as members. It is priced at RM27 for children between five and 12 years and RM37 for those above 13.
The renewal fees are RM15 and RM30 for children and adults respectively.
Members are allowed to borrow three books for two weeks each.
Book loan renewals can be done at the counter or through the phone, but can be done only once.
The library also offers Online Public Access Catalogue (Opac) service, and E-Media electronic information service for access to old publications under the NSTP group’s collection from 1991 onwards.
An MPSJ branch office with a customer service counter and MPSJ Towing Depot are located at the same premises.
The public can pay their assessment taxes and compounds, as well as make enquiries related to the council at the counter.
Its operating hours are 8am-5pm on working days and 9am-1pm on Saturday.
MPSJ is in the process of upgrading the existing system at the counter, with plans for additional services like business licence application, rental of community hall/ sports facilities, application and issuance of dog licence, transfer application, and others.
