Trinity Group Sdn Bhd and Dekon Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch the start of construction of the Zest @ Kinrara 9 ramp.
Present at the ceremony was Deputy Works Minister Datuk Yong Khoon Seng along with government and civic officials in an afternoon groundbreaking ceremony at the site which marks the official beginning of the RM 7 million construction.
The project is expected to be completed in August 2011.
"On behalf of the ministry, I would like to applaud Trinity Group and extend my gratitude for the realisation of this project expected to partly solve the traffic bottleneck problem in the area.
"It is good to see private companies taking responsibility to help develop the communities they operate in.
"Amenities as simple as bus stops and wider roads add significantly to the quality of life of residents in any area, and this new ramp is a big step in the right direction," Yong said.
The ramp intersecting with the Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil will be constructed to link The Zest @ Kinrara 9 will be managed by the winning bidder—Dekon Sdn Bhd under the close supervision of Trinity Group and the ministry.
Dekon has already made arrangements with teams for traffic rerouting scheme during the duration of the construction that will last for about nine months.
"With this ramp construction, road users will save an estimated 15 minutes and travel distance is reduced to 8km," said Trinity founder and managing director Datuk Neoh Soo Keat.
"As a responsible builder, Trinity aims to complete The Zest @ Kinrara 9 ramp works in nine months for the convenience of road users and members of the public.
"We ask road users and members of the public to be patient and to drive with extra care when travelling along the uneven road stretches caused by construction," he added.
The ramp is set to change the feasibility in the locality of Bandar Kinrara, whilst providing ease to the neighbouring areas such as Puchong, Jalan Kelang Lama, Bukit Jalil and eventually easing traffic in the Sungai Besi vicinity.
